Q: can this be mounted horizontally?

A: It’s not the best way. It really depends on the amount of head they you have above the check valve on the vertical run but it’s still going to be prone to leaking. The KCV check valve isn’t spring loaded so the only thing that will keep the valve closed is the water above it so if it’s horizontal, it’s possible that the water won’t keep it shut and therefore cause it to leak. Sometimes it does work but usually it’ll be intermittent.

Q: Can this be used with a Zoeller M53 sump pump?

A: Yes, as long as it's a 1 1/2" discharge, which is the same size as the Zoeller M53.

Q: If I got three (3) of the "Klunkless Check Vavles", could I put one on my sewage line, one on the main pump and one on my backup pump?

A: This valve is perfect to use on your sump lines because it can accommodate up to 1-1/2" discharge pipes.

For sewage pumps, this check valve will not work because sewage discharge pipes are 2" or larger.

Can you tell me if I can use the Klunkless check valve with a sewage pump?

A: This check valve can't be used with sewage pumps. The maximum size pipe this valve can handle is 1-1/2".

Sewage pumps have a 2" or larger discharge.

Everything is great about these two items. Plus it arrived within 2 days. The pump and check valve are super quiet.

My setup is for a basement laundry tub and small bar sink. I also have a water softner that drains into it and a septic system.

I also added the small bleed hole as you suggested and although I never had this before (35 years) with previous pumps it makes sense. I use to get bad odors from sump area but so far nothing.

It must be the check valve and/or the bleed hole helped.
But my cheap Wayne plastic pump was still working af... more
