Q: What is a Vertical Float Switch?

A: A vertical float switch is a ball that floats above the water. As the water level rises so does the float which, at some point, it will trigger the switch to turn the pump on. This float has limited movement up and down and side to side, giving it less freedom of movement and less of a chance to get stuck as a tethered float would.

 Mixed Quality - Broken Base

Received the pump and when I took it out of the box to install I noticed it was cracked at the base between the cast body and plastic base.

The pump is very heavy 20+ pounds and the plastic base is thin cheap plastic so any movement it shipping would cause it to crack. Returned it and purchased the Storm-Pro for $30 more which is far superior and very very quiet.
