Purchased a 10 year old house 5 months ago and needed a new sump pump to replace the 10 year old sump pump. The old sump pump still worked but it was under-powered and the warranty had expired 8 years ago. I purchased a Little Giant 1/2HP SC50V with vertical float from Sumppumpsdirect.com to replace the old 1/3HP Ace Hardware sump pump and couldn't be happier.
It is much, much quieter and much faster than the old sump pump. I also purchased a Zoeller 1 1/2" horizontal check valve at the same time that I purchased the new sump pump because my old sump pump system did not have a check valve installed and when the sump pump would shut off all the standing water in the vertical pipe above the sump pump that the sump pump had just pumped out of the pit would rush back down the pipe and back into the sump pit. Now, once the water is pumped out of the pit it is gone forever.
My local hardware store did not have either of these items in stock so after searching online for the best prices I found the best deal right here. Shipping was free on the sump pump but I had to pay shipping on the check valve. Shipping was super-fast and had both items in three days.
