Q: I'm considering the STORMPRO 2100DC Battery Backup System to augment my primary sump pump. I was also considering the Peak Flow model PFKIT which includes two 1 1/2" check valves. The STORMPRO 2100DC instructions reference the following regarding check valves:

6. Make sure to include a separate 1 1/2” check valve for the backup pumps discharge pipe. Do not use spring loaded or any type resistance check valve.

Questions:

A) Will the check valves that are part of the Peak Flow PFKIT work OK with the STORMPRO 2100DC i.e., meet the requirements of "6" above?
B) If I use the Peak Flow PFKIT for installation, where would I drill 1/8" holes to prevent air locking of either pump?
C) Does the 1/8" hole need to be above the water line in the sump?
D) Exactly what parts comprise the Peak Flow PFKIT and are they already assembled?

A: The check valves should work fine. The DC pump should have enough power to open the valve. PeakFlow uses these check valves with all their pumps so I don’t see that being a problem.

As for installation, I would suggest purchasing more PVC so that the kit can be mounted a few feet above the basement floor.
This will allow enough space for the 1/8” weep hole that should be drilled above the water line.

The Kit comes with the 2 check valves and everything else pictured (The “Y”, the 45° and the misc PVC pieces ).
