Hydrocheck Hc5000
I decided to drill a hole in the lid of the ejector pit to accommodate the probe in order to keep the probe away from the effluent pipe and vent pipe. I sealed the hole with silicon around the wire. I have only had the switch for about 2 months but during that time it has worked perfectly. Time will tell how long it lasts but I have some peace of mind with the lifetime warranty. I like the design because the probe does not sit below the water line for extended periods of time unlike the... more

Did Not Work Well At All
Really didn't have much luck with this product as a sewage pump switch. I have had it installed for about a month and the pump will trigger on it's own and not stop unless the power is removed which resets the switch. I even tried installing the sensor on opposite sides of the tank with the same results. It needs a design change as the sensor flops around the tank and is only held on by a wire. You would think a rubber grommet would also be included in the kit so when you drill the hole for the... more

Edward,
Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with this switch. We've been selling this for almost 3-years now and all of the feedback has been positive. I would suggest contacting HydroCheck at (877) 225-2124, for troubleshooting. Many times, when it comes to switches, a small installation change could be the solution to the problem.

Great Device
Float switch went to pot! I'm to damn old to be crawling down holes etc. So I got this unit, problem solved! Works as advertised. Hope it lasts as long as they claim. Haven't had long enough for 5 stars.Check back in a year or three.

Great Product
If I had tried this option first when my float switch on basement toilet failed I could have save money, time, and myself from being arms deep in sewage. This switch works as advertised. Most importantly it can be adjusted very easily for the proper pump start so that you don't have to worry about overflow. So far it has worked flawlessly.

Great Purchase
Using this in a basement grinder pump setup. Rarely use the basement bathroom, except when we have company staying for a week or so. Due to that fact, the float for the pump would occasionally malfunction causing the pump to run continuously. I was concerned that the pump would burn up for that reason but wasn't looking forward to changing another float. It's difficult to reach and disgusting!
I found this on the internet and decided to try it instead of a conventional float. The cost is... more

Quick & Easy With No Mess
As with other reviewers, I wish I had this 2 float pump switches ago! Extremely quick and easy installation with no gross mess. On the second test it was emptying exactly the correct amount. (after the first test I lowered raised the sensor an inch or so). Filling the sewage container twice with running water took longer than installing the sensor. 20 minutes total install time including testing.
Pros: Easy To Use, Exceeded Expectations, High Quality, I'd Buy It Again

Works As Advertised
Purchased this product as I was looking for something which would pump the sewage basin to the bottom. The problem with a float control is that the pump stops before emptying the pit which, I feel, leads to a build up of a soapy scum. This scum gradually accumulates on the float and walls to the point where the float fails to rise enough to activate the pump.

This unit when installed did run the pump past the empty point the first time. The second time it stopped immediately when empty. It... more
