Q: I have been using a 1/3 HP Thermoplastic Sump Pump Model 92330 for a fountain outside. It is a big 10x10 cement bowl that I put the pump out in the middle of it. I have went through 3 of them about every 6 months. I hook PVC pipe to it and just have it blast water up and it falls right back in the pond. It gets clogged with helicopters and leaves and I clean it out once a week. It goes 24/7 in the summer, spring, and fall. I remove it in the winter. Is it normal to have to get a new one every 3-6 months or should I start using a different kind of pump. I don't know if it is made for dirty water or not. There are no fish in it, so I can use a pump like that. I need help please!:) Thank you for your time. by Jason from Indiana on May 31, 2011
A: The Superior Model 92330 is designed for a sump application and not for continuous operation. I would suggest checking out the Simer 2430 Geyser 50 GPM (1-1/4") Oil-Free Submersible Waterfall/Utility Pump. This pump is specifically designed for waterfalls, streams and ponds. by Jim, Product Expert
