  1 Question
Q: steve,
what size extention cord will run a compressor

by GARY WILLIAMSON from Texas on August 10, 2011

A: Hello,
Most air compressor manufacturers do not recommend using extension cords with their compressors due to the high starting voltage. Better to plug the compressor directly into the electrical outlet & use longer air hose.

Heavy-duty Extension Cord
If you want a cheap extension cord, go to a big box store. You can floss your teeth with their inexpensive, super skinny extension cords.

If you want a serious-duty extension cord that electrifies power equipment, consider the Arctic/Tropic 12-gauge extension cord.

This isn't your ordinary extension cord for Christmas lights. If your power equipment keeps tripping breakers, you need a seriously thick power cord than can handle large electrical loads.

Plus, the 100-foot cord... more

First Snow
My driveway is fairly steeply sloped. I was going uphill and threw the power cord over the unit upon changing directions. a word to the wise...power cords tend to slide downhill and often into the blades of the blower. Rookie mistake and lesson learned.

Prior to that, the unit was doing well, moving the snow cleanly and efficiently. Probably would have been even better if this was Nebraska.
