| Sump Pumps Direct Recommendation |
| By Sump Pumps Direct |
If you haven’t heard of Wayne Pumps before, you probably live in an area where sump pumps aren’t needed. They been making pumps for the last 7 decades, and if you haven’t owned one, you probably know somebody who has. Wayne is one of the largest manufacturers of pumps in the US. They stand behind their products and offer a wide selection of sump, sewage and utility pumps.
If you need to buy a pump, and you know that a 1/3 HP won't do the job, try the next step up. This 1/2 HP pump is a good option. If you’d like to know why we recommend this Wayne model, keep reading.
There are two main reasons we recommend this pump, the design and the switch.
If you want a pump to last for a long time, buy a pump that is designed well. This basically means purchasing a pump that is made out of cast iron, stainless or epoxy-coated steel. The CUDCAP850 is made out of both cast iron and epoxy-coated steel. Not only do these materials allow the pump to handle the heat build-up during operation, they also disperse the heat well, allowing the pump to run cooler. These materials offer better protection from debris that could damage the pump.
The second reason we recommend this pump is because of the switch. Switches often fail because there’s moving parts associated with them. The CUDCAP850 uses Switch Genius™ technology. Instead of a traditional vertical or tether float, this switch is electronic. There’s nothing that could get caught on the switch to make it stay on or not activate at all. Just remember clean the sensor bar on a regular basis and you should get years of operation from this pump.

| Great Sump Pump |
| By Brian Blauvelt (Branchburg, NJ) |
While I ordered the cast iron version of this pump, I was shipped the stainless steel version of the pump for no extra cost, due to an inventory issue at Wayne. That was a nice surprise. Shipping was quite quick also.
The pump install (with battery backup auxiliary pump and radon sump cover) went without a hitch and it looks to be a solid pump. Unfortunately, with the Cap Switch technology, I have been unable to test the pump as installed since the water level has to be high enough to trigger the switch.
In my area at the moment, it is dry, and I cannot get the water level in the sump pit to rise even filling it with a hose it drains as fast as it fills (the benefit of red slate under the foundation).
Given the 5 year warranty on the pump, there should be no issue if there is a problem with the pump when wet weather returns in the fall when I can test the sump pump. |

| Working beautifully |
| By PATRICK CARRANO (Clark, NJ) |
My basement has a sump pump, but it failed... I began to panic ! The storm clouds were closing in, and I needed a new sump pump as of yesterday.
I remembered that a good friend told me about SUMP PUMPS DIRECT. I placed an order online, the pump was shipped to me, and it was placed in my hands just as fast as if I went in my truck and picked it up.
God bless you SUMP PUMPS DIRECT...Oh, and the check valve is working beautifully.
THANK YOU... THANK YOU VERY MUCH. |
