Q: Does the Wayne ESP45 have to run on Wayne's WSB batteries. Can I use my own (2) 12v 75 amp marine batteries. by Bill Bartels from Illinois on December 24, 2011
A: Per the instructions for the ESP45:
The system is designed to operate most efficiently with sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries. Deep cycle marine batteries can also be used. Sealed lead acid batteries cost slightly more, but they can last longer.
The oversize battery case (included) will accommodate two 12-volt SLA batteries or two 12-volt deep cycle marine batteries (up to a 27-frame size).
Wayne offers a 40 amp hour battery WSB1240 and a 75 amp hour battery WSB1275 but you could use another brand. Your 75 amp rated batteries should be sufficient as long as they are deep cycle batteries.
Q: Can this backup system be used with a pedestal sump pump? If not, which one is compatable? by Colleen Kinder from Wisconsin on April 14, 2011
A: The Wayne Model ESP45 can be used as a backup system with either a pedestal or submersible primary sump pump. by Jim, Product Expert
Q: Do I need to leave my battery backup system charging at all times? by Patrick Mcclone from Wisconsin on January 03, 2011
A: To be completely sure your backup system is fully functional during a power outage or weather event, these systems need to stay plugged in at all times.
Q: how many hours backup does this provide in case the power goes out. we are looking for a 24 hour back up pump. by Diana from New Jersey on January 03, 2011
A: This system does not include a battery, and that is what determines the hours of backup a system can provide. There is also the factor of how often a system is running that determines the amount of backup time.
Works great. I was impressed with how quickly the pump emptied the pit when it was in the battery mode. I can't always be home when the power goes out so it provides me a lot of peace of mine. It definitely moves a lot of water. Because my primary pump has a tethered float, the installation had some logistical challenges, but the rest of it was very easy. Batteries are a very expensive. Very pleased with the speed of the transaction. Shipment was promised in 7-14 days and arrived within 7 days.

Pumps A Lot Of Water
Recently installed the Wayne ESP 45 battery backup sump pump.. Our electric was recently out all night. It saved me from a wet basement. Pumps as much as my 12 HP electric. I would highly recommend it for any basement that pumps a lot of water.
