Q: can a theter switch be replaced with afloat switch and what cost differance is there

A: As long as the original switch utilizes a "piggyback" style plug and the pump and switch each have their own power cord, you can replace that tether switch with any other "piggyback" style Float Switch. Please note however that most "piggyback" style floats will only work for pumps that are rated at 1/2HP and 15 amps or less.

Q: What's the best submersible pump to sit on the basement floor (there's no sump pit) which will automatically keep a 12X20 ft. basement water level below 3 inches? It needs to be automatic and trustworthy. The Snake River is going to flood and my basement will take a hit from seepage.

A: I'm sorry to say that we have no pumps that will fit your needs. My suggestion is to either install a sump in a basin or purchase a submersible UTILITY pump.

Q: What is the discharge diminsion (pipe size) and can I control the sump pump via a switch on the wall. Want to be able to turn the pump on or off at my descrection.

A: The discharge size is 1-1/2"

The pump has a piggyback style plug so it can be plugged directly into the way, bypassing the switch. So you can control it with a wall switch.
