Q: I want to pump water out of a creek with about 40 foot of lift to a tank for water storage (water for a pasture). What pump would I use?

A: Your best bet for that application would be either a Wayne Model PLS100 12 GPM 1 HP Stainless Steel Portable Sprinkling Pump or something similar or a Earthquake WP4310 38 GPM (1") Water Pump or something similar. Submersible pumps never work well in the type of application that you require.
