Q: How long will the back up pump run on the batery before the battery is drained? I just installed this system, and I just want to know what to expect! Thanks, by Bryan from Kentucky on July 31, 2011
A: If you alo installed the Wayne Maintenance Free Backup Sump Pump Battery (75 Amps) Model WSB1275 battery, you will get approximatley 8 hours of continuous runtime or approximately 24 hours of non-continuous runtime. by Jim, Product Expert
Q: I have a 3/4hp Wayne and then a seperate back up pump. What is the difference between that and buying a combo unit? by Anonymous on June 22, 2011
A: There really is no difference. Combo units just make the installation easier for those that are either doing a new installation or have decided to replace their old primary pump and add the backup at the same time. Both pumps come as you see them right out of the box. by Jim, Product Expert

Short Lifespan
I bought a WSS30 two years ago and it worked great for a while. But recently, the floats on both pumps have gone bad. And to top that off, the battery backup unit's electrinics fried. The fuse and battey are fine, but nothing is functional -- no lights, no output voltage, nothing. I feel a bit ripped off.

Very Pleased
The unit arrived in a very timely manner. I was not aware that the PVC fittings came with the unit as well. It's just as the picture shown on the web site. So that save's a trip to the hardware store. Very easy to install, and it works like a champ.

Great Solution
We had a 23 hour power failure and water got into our lower level because without power there was no pumping of the sump. I ordered the Wayne WSS30 and the Wayne 75 amp battery. Installation was simple and the unit drains the sump in a few seconds using either the regular pump or the back-up unit. FYI, I have an eleven foot rise. The only mistake on my part was not installing the system before the disaster. Worth every penny!
