Q: I want to purchase an alarm system for my Zoeller 503-0005 water activated sump pump backup system. I believe this is called an automatic dialer that will call my cell phone if the system is activated. Do I also need to purchase the Zoeller alarm system? What are the model numbers and prices for what I need? Thank you. by Terry Keegan from Wisconsin on April 16, 2011
A: You could go with the Protected Home model BD-5000 Basic Alarm Dialer and the Protected Home model WS-04 WaterSiren Plus. This would give you a 90 Decibel Alarm for when you are home and the added convenience of the phone dialer when your not. One last option would be the Reliance Controls model THP201 Freeze/Flood/Power Failure PhoneAlert Monitoring System which is capable of calling up to 3 phone lines. by Jim, Product Expert
Q: Why does the charging system stay on charge all the time and not go back and forth between charge and fully charge? by Thomas Kirkpatrick from Michigan on January 28, 2011
A: According the the owner's manual, it should alternate between charge and fully charged. I would suggest having your battery tested to make sure that it is able to hold a full charge.

Q: Do I need to leave my battery backup system charging at all times? by Patrick Mcclone from Wisconsin on January 03, 2011
A: To be completely sure your backup system is fully functional during a power outage or weather event, these systems need to stay plugged in at all times.
Q: how many hours backup does this provide in case the power goes out. we are looking for a 24 hour back up pump. by Diana from New Jersey on January 03, 2011
A: This system does not include a battery, and that is what determines the hours of backup a system can provide. There is also the factor of how often a system is running that determines the amount of backup time.
Have had 5 M98's over the years. 4 have failed do to heavy use. But not the pump itself, the switchs have stopped working. Which brings me to the 510 backup. I have had one 510 fail because of not being used. So now I unplug the M98 and let the 510 run for 15 min so that the seals do noy dry out. Also be sure to check on the battery every 6 months.
