| PUMP FAILED AFTER 2 YEARS |
| By Kristin Burgin (Mooresville, IN) |
We had this pump installed by a local company, and it failed (burnt up) after only 2 years.
We contacted the installer and it is out of warranty, nothing we can do but spend the money on a new sump pump at this point. What a waste!
SPD RESPONDS: You may want to touch base with the folks at Zoeller to make sure you have the right pump and set up for the job- they have a very low failure rate, and may have some good advice for you.
You can contact them toll free at (800) 928-7867. |

| BASEMENT FLOOD |
| By JOHN FARMER (Springfield, IL) |
MY BASEMENT FLOODED DUE TO PUMP SWITCH FAILURE. PUMP WAS STILL WORKING BUT SWITCH STUCK OFF. REPLACED THE PUMP WITH A HALF HORSE LITTLE GIANT, BACKED UP WITH A ZOLLER M-98 IN THE SAME PIT.
TRASHED THE OLD PUMP. REPLACEMENT PUMPS WERE INSTALLED EASILY. I AM DISABLED AND HIRED A PLUMBER TO INSTALL THEM. HE RE-PIPED THE SYSTEM TO ALLOW A BACKUP TO FIT.
IT TOOK LESS THAN 2 HOURS TO COMPLETE. THE ZOLLER IS BACKUP TO THE LITTLE GIANT AND EACH IS PLUGGED IN DIFFERENT OUTLETS ON THEIR OWN BREAKERS. A BUILT-IN GENERATOR BACKS UP THE POWER SYSTEM.
IT'S WORTH THE MONEY FOR PEACE OF MIND. I FEEL I INSTALLED THE BEST PUMPS MADE AND PRAY I NEVER FLOOD AGAIN. THE PUMP WORK ONLY COST $164.00 TOTAL.
I GOT A GREAT DEAL FOR PUMPS AND INSTALLATION. |

Excellent pump for the money! I love the extra long power cord.
I put in a 22x24 basin on a pump stand under our bulkhead stairs and it kicks butt!
Thank you. |

| Looks good |
| By E Deluca (Norwood, MA) |
The pump is on line; I installed this unit in no time.
I like the solid, heavy, no-nonsense feel to it and I'm happy that it's made in the U.S.A. I'm glad I bought it.
It's a good thing I used the video from this web site as a guide since I did not know about the required air bleed hole. That might explain why my old pump seemed to struggle sometimes. |

| A dependable spare |
| By Louie (Manchester, NH) |
I bought the Zoeller M98 in the event of a failure of the current unit I have installed in a basement sump pit.
The installation was done about 3 years ago by a commercial contractor, and the pump they used has been very dependable. I wouldn't be surprised if it too is a Zoeller model.
The M98 seems very well built, using cast iron as opposed to other metals, and the cosmetic touches such as a bolted-on brass ID plate tell me this company takes pride in what they do.
I sincerely hope I never have to replace my original unit, but if I do, I have this one ready to go. |

| New England Floods |
| By paula (Framingham, MA) |
We had approximately 10 inches of rain in one storm the end of March 2010. I purchased the pump based on recommendations from many people.
The pump has had to work every 20 seconds, 24 hours, 7 seven days a week. I have a high water table and an underground stream through my back yard.
I bought the pump because my other one failed and flooded my finished basement. We then had another rain storm a week later that dropped approx. 7 inches. The new Zoeller pump has been working great.
As added protection, I installed three more pumps. I now have a Zoeller pump in each corner of my basement. I know they don't last forever, but a lot longer than the ones from a discount store.
I love my Zoeller pumps because I can go to sleep with peace of mind!!! |

| Hasn't blown up yet |
| By joseph (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) |
I purchased the Zoeller M98 as a back-up pump. I live in South Jersey and we are getting slammed with water this year.
My pump has been working steady for almost 4 months, sometimes discharging every 10 seconds when it got bad after a heavy rain.
The original pump that I have is another Zoeller M98- what a workhorse. There were times I thought it was going to blow up, but it never did!
If I never use this back-up pump it's still money well spent, knowing I have a great one behind me just in case. |

| Teriffidillic! |
| By Paul Scott (Sacramento, CA) |
Had a "Rigid" model from a Big Box store for 6-months. Nothing but trouble......overheating, float sticking, slight oil leak.
I use the Zoeller M98 for evacuating an overflow sump chamber coming of my 24,000 gallon koi pond.
It installed in a snap, and works like a charm. The heavy cast iron housing is a sure sign of dependability.
The feature of handling small debris is a plus too. Since installed, my bi-weekly cleaning of the chamber has ceased.
I'd buy a Zoeller brand pump again and definitely recommend it to a friend or others in the market for a dependable pump.
SPD RESPONDS: Thank you for your review. While the picture of the baby orangutan was very cute, it doesn't qualify for the free gift. The picture needs to be of the unit in use, or of you installing it- you get the idea.
If you'd like to send us a picture of the pump and your koi pond, that would be great! |
