Don't Forget The Check Valve
When I ordered an M53 sump pump I was advised to also replace the check valve as they tend to leak down after many years of service. The check valve was relatively inexpensive and easy to install. We occasionaly had a strange groaning noise in our house and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. After replacing the check valve the noise disappeared.
