What does "thermal overload protection" mean?

Answer
Thermal overload protection means that there is a sensor built into the pump that senses heat. When the heat setting of that sensor is reached, the sensor shuts the pump off until the pump cools to a safe operating temperature, thereby saving the pump from a total burn out.
