The HydroCheck HC8000T Electronic Sump Pump Float Switch with Programmable Run Time and Built-in Alarms works with all types of sump pumps and can be used in place of any float switch. Unlike traditional float switches, the HC8000T is unaffected by water with high mineral or iron content due to its dry-sensor technology. No submerged parts in the pit ensures reliability.
The HC8000T will run the pump for a precise amount of time when triggered by the water reaching the sensor tip. Use the Smart Button to easily program a precise cycle length for your sump pump that will begin when water reaches the sensor tip. Built-in alarms will alert you if there is a problem with the pump or the discharge plumbing. Not rated for outdoor use.
How It Works
The placement of the sensor determines when the programmed pump cycle begins. After the cycle has finished, the pump will turn off. Following the sequence below, the operation is as follows:
1. The pump is off when the water is below the sensor.
2. When water reaches the sensor the pump is turned on.
3. The pump stays on for the duration of the programmed run time.
4. The pump is turned off when the programmed run time has expired.
Notice that in the HC8000T’s operation the sensor is never submerged and is therefore unaffected by water with high mineral or iron content.
EASY-TO-INSTALL SINGLE SENSOR DESIGN:
No need to access hard-to-reach areas of the pit. Simply secure the sensor to the discharge pipe just below the drain tile and program your desired cycle length.
NO SUBMERGED PARTS IN PIT TO BE AFFECTED BY MINERALS OR DEBRIS
Dry-sensor technology prevents iron or calcium build-up on the sensor that can shorten the service life of traditional float switches! The electronic control module provides ultimate reliability by eliminating moving parts in the pit that can fail.
COMPATIBLE WITH ALL SUMP PUMP APPLICATIONS:
Versatile and easy to install, the HC8000T works with all sump pump systems (< 15 Amps) and can replace any existing float switch. Ideal for narrow or crowded pits!
PROGRAMMABLE CYCLE LENGTH & BUILT-IN ALARMS
Use the Smart Button to easily program a precise cycle length for your sump pump that will begin when liquid reaches the sensor tip. Built-in alarms will sound should a problem occur such as pump failure, high water, discharge hose blockage or trapped air
All alarms can be individually muted or silenced using the Smart Button.

Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Sump Pump Expert
What is the actual voltage in the wire running from the sensor to the plug-in module? It looks way too thin for 120V. My customer wants to use a sensor to activate the pump he had installed in his backyard to remove flooding rain water off of his property.

Answer
The actual voltage from the sensor to the plug is 5 VDC, current limited to about 50 uAmps.
These switches can typically handle pumps rated at Min/Max current of 2.5/14 running amps.

Igor.

Answer
Either one will work on a 120V, 14 max amp rated sump pump. The HC6000 gives you the ability to fine-tune your ON & OFF activation points by providing a sensor for each activation point. The HC8000 provides you with a single sensor that is used to activate your pump. Once activated, the pump will evacuate water till the pump loses prime or starts sucking air.
