Online Retailer 354th Among the Nation's Largest E-Retail Sites
BOLINGBROOK, IL (May 21, 2009) - Power Equipment Direct announced today it made Internet Retailer's Top 500 list for the second consecutive year.
The online power equipment retailer ranked as the 354th largest e-retail company in the United States by Internet Retailer magazine.
Internet Retailer's definitive ranking and analysis of America's 500 largest e-retailers is based on annual 2008 Internet sales, researched by Internet Retailer and confirmed by retailers. This report includes company financial, operational and performance data, as well as vendors in key categories.
"Power Equipment Direct moved up several spots in the Top 500 rankings this year to No. 354 and grew their web sales in 2008 by 21%," says Internet Retailer editor-in-chief Kurt Peters. Jon Hoch founded Power Equipment Direct in his basement after an awful experience shopping for a lawn mower. Today, the Bolingbrook, IL-based e-commerce company operates nine niche web sites, generating more than $20 million in annual sales.
The online power equipment retailer is expecting additional growth in 2009. It already doubled its warehousing capability with the launch of a second distribution center. In addition, it significantly expanded its customer service staff and store hours.
