Great Pump. Need Specs For A Generator To Power It
By Anne
IL
Review Posted 02/21/2024
Works great to keep water out of our crawl space. We are in an area that loses power so am wondering what kind/size of generator we would need to get to keep power going to it for an extended time period?

Little Giant Pump

This pump works fine and as advertised. Any issue I have with it is of my own doing. My former pump had an output hose the size of your arm, so it’s GPM was greater. But, it was constantly not working. I’ve found this pump takes about 3 times as long to empty the pits. But by golly it works well.

An Excellent Pond Pump And A Very Good Value
By Stephen Z.

I had my first 505000 for over 15 years and used it during the summer to water my plants from my pond during the summer. At times it was on 24 hours for days. I attached it to my garden hose system. It finally just died of old age. I was surprised and please to see that the same model existed. So far it is functioning as well as my original. If it lasts half as long as my original it is more than well worth the price.

Little Giant Pump

This is the only pump that fits a water fountain my wife purchased years ago. I don't think the quality of it is as good as it used to be, so what's new! I only seem to get a year out of it before the bearings go and it starts leaking oil and it has to be replaced.
The earlier pumps used to get 3 to 4 years before they crapped out. I guess I should be lucky that this pump is still manufactured. But it is a bit pricey for its present durability. I would only buy it again because it's the only game in town for this fountain.

You might want to consider an oil-free pump, like this one Pondmaster ProLine HY-Drive 1600 GPH Submersible Waterfall / Pond Pump

Works Great. Pumps Up 8 Feet and Empties A 6 Gallon Bucket
By Galen T.

Works great. Pumps a 6 gallon bucket empty in about 10 seconds. I used Little Giant pumps when working with the Virginia Institute of Marine Science from 1970 to 1981 to collect water samples from the Rappahannock , James and Potomac rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. Also took them to Mobile Bay for a job there. Performed perfectly.

Cord Too Short
By Gary

Purchased 05/27/2016 |
Review Posted 06/13/2016
Bought this pump to replace same model whose cord had worn out. I use it to drain the cover on my swimming pool. The old pump had a 25 foot cord, while the new one has a 10 foot cord. Since the manufacturer says an extension cord should not be used, I'm not sure why they changed to the shorter cord on the newer pumps.
