  3 Questions
Q: Can the temperature at which the device alarms be programmed, or will it alarm only at a temperature determined by the device manufacturer?
by William H from Pennsylvania on February 12, 2016

A: The temperature setting cannot be programmed. A temperature drop to below 45 degrees F +/-3 degrees F (7C +/- 2C) at the control panel will result in an alarm and call.

Q: Does the THP201 use a battery, draw power from the phone line, or have a wall wart plug?
by Bryce from California on December 06, 2013

A: The Reliance THP201 operated off 120V power via a AC/DC wall adapter and a 9B battery to operate during power outages.
by Jim, Product Expert

Q: How does the Reliance device detect flooding and power failure if it's plugged in and there is no power? What happens if there is no answer to the three numbers provided?
by Judy Medford from Michigan on July 26, 2011

A: A water sensor is housed in a separate plug-in accessory, which is included with Model Number THP201. The water sensor can be placed up to 100 feet from the control panel using additional telephone line.
A single or multiple alarm condition will initiate the phone-out sequence features of this monitoring system. After a 5- or 30-minute delay (depending on the switch setting selected for the “Call Delay Time”) the monitoring system will call the first programmed telephone number and wait up to 10 rings for the called telephone to answer. If the called telephone does not answer, or answers and no response code keys are pressed, the monitoring system will call a second and third telephone number (if programmed), each time allowing 10 rings. The monitoring system will continue the calling sequence at 15-minute intervals until a called phone is answered and a response code is entered, or until an alarm condition no longer exists.

Easy To Install
I have been pleased with my 8kw Generac for the short time I have had it. It was easy to install with a whole house transfer switch.

The noise level is acceptable and is not intrusive. The locking mechanism for the lid is a to get open especially in the cold weather.

I might have gotten the 10kw had I recognized the cylinder differences before I ordered, but no complaints so far.

The Home Protection freeze/flood device installed in a few minutes. The instructions are... more
