The HydroCheck HC6000v2 Electronic Sump Pump Float Switch with Hi-Lo Dual Sensors and Built-in Alarms is a universal float switch that works with all types of sump pumps. Unlike other float switches that have a small or fixed range, the HC6000v2 is highly adjustable with 12ft sensor cables that provide the user with complete control of where the pump turns on and turns off. Built-in alarms will alert you if there is a problem with the pump or the discharge plumbing.
No moving parts in the pit ensures reliability. Sensors do not need to be cleaned and work in water with high iron or high mineral content when paired with the HydroCheck Installation Kit. The HC6000v2 is a versatile, heavy-duty switch that is rated for 1 HP, 15 Amps and can be used in hydroponics, aquariums, rain harvesting, etc.
The built-in anti-airlock feature will make 2 attempts to clear an airlock by shutting the pump off briefly if the sensor is still detecting water after the pump has run for 20 seconds.
How It Works
The placement of the sensors determine when the control module turns the pump on, and when it turns the pump off. Following the sequence below, the operation is as follows:
1. When the water is below both sensors, the pump is off.
2. The pump is off when the water is above the Black Sensor (Lo-Sensor), but hasn't reached the Red Sensor (Hi-Sensor).
3. When the water reaches the Red Sensor (Hi-Sensor), the pump is turned on.
4. The pump stays on while the water is between the sensors.
5. The pump is turned off when the water drops below the Black Sensor (Lo-Sensor).

Simple Pump Switch

I bought my Zoeller pump with a Level Guard magnetic swtich. It was supposed to last 1 million cycles. It crapped out just under 9 years. The pump still runs strong. I needed a new switch so I decided to go with this unit as it got good reviews. it was very simple to install. I cut off the old switch first. Then installed the new low switch point first, then the high switch point. Just 2 simple zip ties. Plugged it in, filled the pit with water and it worked perfectly. Lets hope this thing lasts longer than the Level Guard product. By the way that company is no longer in business either.

No More Short Cycling

The only failure I've ever had with a sump pump has been the float switch. This eliminates that switch and also allows the crock to fill and empty completely due to the adjustable sensing probes. The pump runs 2/3 less frequently and when it does it completely drains the sump crock. This is my second unit for a secondary sump crock I just put in. My first one has been operating flawlessly for 5 years on the original pump.

HydroCheck HC6000v2

I have installed three of these HydroCheck electronic float switches at different homes and they have worked flawlessly. Much more reliable than mechanical float switches and they require no maintenance. Another benefit is that they take up virtually no space in your sump pit, so they are a great choice if you are in tight quarters. I have used these with different Liberty pumps, which I purchase without float switches (most recently, the Liberty 450 1/2 HP Aluminum submersible pump). Liberty pumps are extremely quiet, well built, and move a lot of water. Pairs very nicely with the HydroCheck switch.
The HydroCheck may seem a little pricey compared to other options, but I don't think you will be disappointed with the quality and performance.
I order all of my equipment through Sump Pumps Direct. They carry a large selection of equipment, prices are fair, and they get equipment out fast. If you have any questions, give them a call - they actually have people that answer the phones!

This product works as it is supposed to. Very efficient and easily adjustable. I wish I had known about this type of device years ago. It does not have the worries of a flotation switch. Highly recommend.

HC6000v2 Review

Had absolutely no problems with my Zoeller Pump & LevelGuard Solid State Field Effect Switch, but after 8 years felt it was time to take preventive action and switch out the old stuff with new. Mystified that LevelGuard Products are no longer available but the same basic technology appears to be available with several alternative products. Choose a HydroCheck option which actually has added flexibility in choosing at what water level to activate and when to shut off. Works like a charm with my new Zoeller Pump and Check Value. Hope this information helps you with your sump pump decision making.
