While most sump and sewage should have a weep hole drilled in the discharge pipe, this Wayne pump does not require it. This is due to their top suction design. Where most pumps suck the water in through the bottom and underneath the base, this pump sucks the water in from around the top of the base. I always say that, no matter what, it's never a bad idea to drill the weep hole, but with this style of pump, it's not as important.
