Pump Model #CDUCAP850

Review Posted 12/08/2010
The pump is pushing a 15" head of water but I have some concerns about how the pump will hold up. The pump has to deal with fine particulate in the sump and it has already stuck in the on position once but personnel were available to unplug the pump and plug it back in which cleared the problem. My suspension is that the particulate may be coating the shaft the miracle switch rides on and the float may be hanging up. Time will tell if what I suspect is true.

Expert Response
We usually don't post a reply before the review but in this case it is necessary. The Float Switch has no moving parts, so it would be impossible for it to get hung up in the mechanical fashion that was mentioned. Wayne recommends that the "Electronic Sensor Bar" be cleaned on a regular basis for proper operation.

Great Sump Pump

While I ordered the cast iron version of this pump, I was shipped the stainless steel version of the pump for no extra cost, due to an inventory issue at Wayne. That was a nice surprise. Shipping was quite quick also.
The pump install (with battery backup auxiliary pump and radon sump cover) went without a hitch and it looks to be a solid pump. Unfortunately, with the Cap Switch technology, I have been unable to test the pump as installed since the water level has to be high enough to trigger the switch.
In my area at the moment, it is dry, and I cannot get the water level in the sump pit to rise even filling it with a hose it drains as fast as it fills (the benefit of red slate under the foundation).
Given the 5 year warranty on the pump, there should be no issue if there is a problem with the pump when wet weather returns in the fall when I can test the sump pump.

My basement has a sump pump, but it failed... I began to panic ! The storm clouds were closing in, and I needed a new sump pump as of yesterday.
I remembered that a good friend told me about SUMP PUMPS DIRECT. I placed an order online, the pump was shipped to me, and it was placed in my hands just as fast as if I went in my truck and picked it up.
God bless you SUMP PUMPS DIRECT...Oh, and the check valve is working beautifully.
THANK YOU... THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
