Superior Pump Universal Sump & Sewage Pump Alarm System
Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Sump Pump Expert
What is the best sump pump alarm?

Answer
Well, that can be a matter of opinion. Our best selling sump pump alarm right now is the Basement Watchdog model BWD-HWA, which is a basic alarm with a sensor. The Superior Pump Universal Sump & Sewage Pump Alarm System model 92060 is a little different style of alarm and can be used in both sump & sewage pump applications and is our #2 best selling alarm. If you are looking for a little more in an alarm system, the Protected Home Deluxe FreezeAlarm & Dialer model FA-D2 coupled with the Protected Home WaterSiren Plus model WS-04 will give you protection with extreme high or low temperatures and potential flooding by sounding an alarm AND calling up to 3 different phone numbers with a pre-recorded alert message. This system also has other capabilities when coupled with optional equipment such as a special second thermostat in your home. Please note that this system does require a land based phone system to carry out the call alerts.

What is the best alarm system to buy in case my pump fails and the water is filling up the sump pit? I see them priced from $10.00 to $150.00+

Answer
Our most popular alarm is the Basement Watchdog Sump Pump Water Alarm, model BWD-HWA. It will sound a 110 decibel alarm when water reaches it's sensor. Another popular choice is the Reliance Controls Freeze/Flood/Power Failure Monitoring System & Dialer, model THP201. In addition to sounding an alarm when it senses a power outage, freezing temperatures in your residence and/or flooding, it will also dial up to 3 phone numbers to alert you of these conditions. The last option that is also recommended is the PumpGuard Sump Pump Protection System, model PUMPGUARD which will sound an alarm AND override your float switch to get you pump running in the event your switch fails for any reason, as long as you have electric (AC) power.
